Love, Sex, & Media
MEDIA such as television, movies, and newspapers, has been manipulated into spreading distorted concepts of love and sexuality.
It began with zoologist Alfred Kinsey posing as a sexologist. Motivated by his own promiscuity and infidelity, he violated the code of journalism ethics when he published his Kinsey Reports and forced media outlets to write about them favorably.
Based upon these biased reports, Hugh Hefner then pushed casual sex into the mainstream through Playboy magazine, preaching that all sex was good sex.
WHY WE CARE
As media surrounds and influences us today, young people are repeatedly assailed by distorted messages about sex and love. This has lead to the global spread of sexual misconduct, abuse, rape, violence, and human rights violations.
WHAT WE DO
Through Campus Talk we explore the science behind creating lasting love and healthy relationships, as well as the global consequences of casual sex.
